About this coloring page

This drawing features a large triangular watermelon slice in front of a round, striped watermelon. Six teardrop-shaped seeds fill the slice, and a curved band marks its rind. A few tufts of grass peek out on either side. Thick outlines and roomy spaces suit little kids, while the seeds and wavy stripes add a medium level of detail for ages 3–5.

Try red or pink for the juicy center and two shades of green for the rind and whole melon. Crayons work well for the large areas, while colored pencils can reach the smaller seed shapes.

Best paper

Standard printer paper works; 24–32 lb or cardstock is nicer for markers.

Printer settings

Choose “Fit to page” and turn off two-sided printing so ink doesn't bleed through.

Supplies

Chunky crayons or washable markers are easiest for small hands.
