About this coloring page

This dense botanical drawing features bird-of-paradise-style flowers surrounded by overlapping tropical foliage. Tall, elongated leaves fill the background, while broad split leaves spread across the bottom. Smaller blossoms peek through the gaps, and fine veins follow the curves of the leaves throughout the design.

The closely spaced lines and layered shapes make this a detailed choice for adults who enjoy taking their time with botanical artwork. Try several shades of green to distinguish neighboring leaves, then use orange and purple for the pointed blooms. Sharpened colored pencils are useful for the narrow sections between veins, while the larger leaf shapes leave room for gentle shading.
